Health & Safety

St Mary’s Canine Creche is fully insured and our comprehensive policy includes Public Liability and Employers Liability, a certificate is prominent in reception.

To ensure that our health levels of our dogs are maintained, all dogs must be fully vaccinated with a vets record detailing: –

  • Canine Distemper
  • Canine Parovirus
  • Leptospirosis
  • Canine Hepatitis
  • Kennel Cough

You will receive a reminder from us that your dogs vaccines are due to expire and you will be invited to bring your vaccine card in for us to update our copy. Alternatively, we operate a vaccination amnesty, where we ask for all cards to be dropped in so we can perform a random check and advise if your dog is under vaccinated.

All dogs pass an assessment to ensure their suitability for enrolment and friendliness towards other canines.  We operate across the Canine Creche Group at a 30% failure rate, we are extremely choosey and not every dog is suitable for day creche.  We have a program to assist you and your dog with rehabilitation or some training programs if we feel it is an interim issue that can be remedied.

We have an extensive cleaning regime, every day the Creche is thoroughly cleaned using Anigene (safe for animals), hoovered and deep cleaned regularly. We have a one minute ruling for pooper scooping, all dog waste is cleared within one minute and we hose and disinfect outside daily.  Our waste is removed by licensed carriers we have Duty Of Care Certificates for all collections.

We are a licensed facility and we work closely with Suffolk Coastal and Waveney Environmental Health teams to ensure that our care far surpasses any minimum standards.
